Belinda Bannerman

Belinda has over 17 years of direct service experience with victim survivors of family violence, in both specialist family violence services and community services, in Australia and Canada. She has extensive experience working with women and their children in the context of risk assessment and safety planning, high security refuge, court support, mental health and AOD issues, systems advocacy and referral support.

Belinda’s expertise as a trainer, assessor, designer and program manager of family violence education informs her current work to develop capability building approaches across the response and prevention of violence against women sectors. Her work involves a focus on ensuring Victoria’s individual, organisational and systemic approaches to working with victim survivors are evidence based and best practice. She maintains her connection to victim survivors’ experiences and stories through her work as a specialist trauma recovery practitioner in private practice.
