Domestic Violence services include:

Albany Women's Centre

Albany Women's Centre offers women, with or without children, affected by family and domestic violence a safe refuge and support services. The support provided by this service includes:

  • 24 hour on call service
  • Safe, secure crisis accommodation
  • Case management support
  • Outreach services
  • Support Groups
  • Advocacy, and
  • Community Education
Domestic Violence Advocacy and Support Service

The service provides support and advocacy to adult victims of family and domestic violence. The support provided by this service includes:

  • Information about safe accommodation options
  • Referral to other relevant agencies
  • Advocacy on victim's behalf to other agencies
  • Support with legal and court proceedings
  • Police liaison
  • Education and information about family and domestic violence, and
  • Emotional support
Young Hearts Child Counselling Service

Is for children up to and including 18 years old, and women who:

  • have been exposed to family and domestic violence (even if they are in another room when the violence occurs)
  • have experienced physical or verbal violence themselves
  • have experienced emotional abuse and neglect
  • have been exposed to or experienced some or all of the above and are beginning to show signs of imitating violent or submissive behaviour.
Victim and Child Witness Services

Provides confidential support to adult victims of crime including:

  • information on criminal justice processes
  • trauma debriefing and counselling
  • court preparation and companionship
  • advocacy and referrals to other service providers
  • assistance when making an application for a Violence Restraining Order
  • information on the status of convicted offenders in WA through the Victim Notification Register

Our Child Witness Service provides support to all children and youth who need to speak or give evidence in court. This includes instances in which the child or young person has been hurt themselves or have witnessed a crime against another person.
