Domestic Violence Victoria

Domestic Violence Victoria

Domestic Violence Victoria (DV Vic) is the peak body for family violence services in Victoria.

DV Vic’s mission is to lead the Victorian community in building safer lives for women and children experiencing, or at risk of, violence. Its mission is critical in order to create safer communities for all and to reduce the current burden on the economy, social services, families, communities and business, caused by family violence.

DV Vic improves services for women affected by family violence by supporting its members (family violence service providers) to deliver best practice responses. They represent our membership on a variety of advisory committees at statewide and national levels.

DV Vic influences systemic change through evidence-based advocacy. It informs government, and other bodies in a position to make a difference, on appropriate policy in relation to family violence.

DV Vic plays a role in coordinating efforts across the state and supports collaboration and partnership between governments, services, businesses and communities to work together on initiatives to prevent violence against women.
