International expert Mhairi McGowan addressed our 11 September 2014 forum 'What Does It Take? - Addressing high risk family violence through an integrated service response'. Mhairi is Head of Service at ASSIST and Domestic Abuse Services in Glasgow, Scotland. She addressed the forum on how agencies in Scotland have worked in dynamic partnerships to identify risk, share information and hold perpetrators accountable. Mhairi is responsible for Scotland’s first independent domestic abuse advocacy service which is co-located with police and also partners with police in their tasking and coordination processes to manage serious family violence offenders. This partnership has led to a decrease in repeat victimisation from 65 to 37 per cent.
